Different materials behave differently depending on scale, purpose and techniques. We test materials for their structural integrity to check if the material can hold weight or maintain shape, especially for large models. For its workability to assess how easy it is to cut, glue, sand, or shape. for its aesthetic quality to establish how it represents textures, colors, and finishes. For its scale accuracy to ensure the material can represent details appropriately for the model scale. And lastly for its durability to test resistance to warping, breaking, or fading.
